I am not able to login (sign in) to my account.
There is a 2-part sign-in process to be able to view your online account(s). You must first sign-in to FifeDirect using your Username (your email address) and Password to access your account dashboard. You maybe prompted to input 3 digits from a security code that you set up when you registered to view an online account. If you have forgotten your security code then you are able to reset it using the 'Forgotten Your Security Code' link on the account login screen.
I have forgotten my username for FifeDirect.
Your username for FifeDirect is the email address you used to register. If you cannot remember your username then please use this form to get a reminder. I have been unable to register for a Council Tax online account.
You must first have registered for FifeDirect to then be able to register to view your Council Tax Account online. Sign-in to FifeDirect using your Username (your email address) and Password to access your FifeDirect Account. Within your Council Tax box you should see an option to Register to View Your Account. To register you will need a copy of your last bill showing your account information. If you don't have a bill then you can complete the online bill request form and we will send you the details you will need to register. Click on the 'Sign Up' Button and enter your Involvement ID, Council Tax Account Number and your postcode. You will then be prompted to enter a security code which must be a minimum of 6 characters and can be a combination of both numbers and letters. When you click Register this will generate an activation email to your email account which you registered as your Username for your FifeDirect account. Click on the activation link within the email to complete your registration. You will then be taken to your Council Tax Accounts page.
I have not been able to find my address using the postcode search.
If the Council Tax Account registration screen does not accept your postcode then please contact us online and someone will be in touch soon to help you.
I did not receive the activation e-mail.
After you register to view your account online, an activation email is sent automatically to the email address you provided as your Username when you registered for FifeDirect. If you have not received this email in your inbox, check your spam folder as it may have went there. If you still have problems with the registration process then please contact us online and someone will be in touch soon to help you.
The activation link in the email is not working.
There will be a second link and special code in the email which you can use if you are having trouble activating your account with the first link. This second link will prompt you to go to www.fifedirect.org.uk/Activate to enter the special code and your FifeDirect Username which is usually your email address. If you still experience problems activating your account then please contact us online and someone will be in touch soon to help you.
What is my security code?
Your security code offers an additional level of security and you were prompted to select this code during your registration to view your account online. This security code had to be a minimum of 6 characters and could be a combination of both numbers and letters. If you've forgotten your security code then you are able to request it on the account 'Sign In' screen. You will see a 'Forgotten Your Security Code' link underneath the 'Sign In' box. Click on this link and an email will be sent to your email address containing your security code. You can then use this to Sign In to your account.
My account is locked.
You will have 3 attempts to enter the correct username and password for your FifeDirect account. If you fail to input the correct information at the third attempt then your account will 'lock'. If your account has locked then wait until an hour has passed before you try again as your account will have reset within this hour. You will now have another 3 attempts to enter your correct Username and Password. Your Username for FifeDirect is the email address you used to register. If you've forgotten your password for FifeDirect, you can reset it here. If you still experience problems logging in then please contact us online and someone will be in touch soon to help you.
I did not receive the email after using the 'Forgotten Your Password' link on the Sign In screen of FifeDirect.
Please make sure that you have entered your email address correctly and that you have checked your spam filters to see if the email has been diverted to your deleted box. How do I change my password for FifeDirect?
You can change your password for FifeDirect once you have logged into your account and selected the 'Personal Details' tab. You will then see a 'Change Password' box and link. I have been logged out
If there is a prolonged period of inactivity on your account then you will be automatically logged out for security reasons.
