Home safety and security

Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home.

This section contains information on a range of topics relating to home safety and security.  You will find a number of informative advice guides on keeping your home safe and secure.

There are many people in Fife who can help you make your home a safer place to be:

  • A Police Community Safety Officer can visit your home and conduct a free Home Security Survey, providing advice on how to make your home secure.
  • In homes with children under 5 or vulnerable adults, Fife Cares Service home safety advisers can visit and identify hazards and areas of danger, giving advice on how to make their home safer.
  • Fire Service offers free home safety visits to help families produce 'Fire Safety Action Plans', to help everyone to understand what they should do if their smoke alarm goes off.

For a Fife Cares visit or home security survey please contact Fife Council contact centre on 03451 55 15 03 or visit  Do it Online
