Purpose of consultation

Residents of Central Fife are being asked to have their say on the future of subsidised bus services in their area. Fife Council Assets, Transportation & Environmental Services are looking for feedback on what services are most important to residents of Central Fife. A consultation will take place from 9 May until 30 June.

All comments received will be considered when contracts for subsidised bus routes are renewed in August 2017.

The bus services that are currently subsidised or partly subsidised in Central Fife are: B1, 4, X4, X4A, 11A, 12A, 13, 13A, 13B, 14, 15A, 16, 16A, 18, 32, 37, 37A, 43A, 44A, 45, 46, 46A, 47A, 48B, 49B.  The Council is interested in finding out the places/ facilities residents go to by bus and what times they need or prefer to travel.

On-bus surveys will be carried out with passengers on these routes during May and June and passenger movements are being analysed using ticket machine data.

In addition, questionnaires can be picked up at Glenrothes, Leven and Kirkcaldy Bus Station. Questionnaires can also be completed online at www.fifedirect.org.uk/bussurvey
