Councillors at a meeting of the council's Community and Housing Services Committee this week discussed the £500,000 investment which would bring all the Kingdom's tower blocks up to the same security standards and make sure tenants all enjoy the same level of concierge service.
The council currently manages 12 tower blocks across Fife but levels of service are different depending on their location.
Costs to tenants and residents also vary through different service and factoring charges. Now tenants and residents will be consulted on a range of options and it's hoped improved services will be in place by next year.
Committee Convenor Cllr Judy Hamilton explained: "We've been looking at all the services we provide in our tower blocks in the aftermath of the Grenfell tragedy and would like to improve our current concierge service. Our tenants will be consulted on their preferred option but we will be recommending that all our tower blocks have an overnight concierge service between 8pm and 8am Monday to Sunday. Modern CCTV systems with the same level of coverage in all blocks would also be installed.
"I hope our tenants take the opportunity to get involved and have their say on the proposals."
Consultation on four options all with different cost implications will take place in the coming months.
