True Grit!

Kinross were our opponents for the opening game to the 2012/13 season and we were looking forward to our usual tussle with one of our main rivals.  The sun was shining...could it be our day?

It was a tight first half and very even when a defensive mix up resulted in Kinross talking the first goal.   They quickly added to the score just before half time although it was contested by the Madras girls.

Half time score 0-2.

The second half started as the first had ended with Kinross scoring early.  How would the Madras girls respond to being 0-3 down?

Madras stepped up a gear and continued to do what we have been working hard at - quick passing and working together.  This paid off as Rosie slotted 2 goals into the back of the net.

We were still 1 goal down but we were not giving up.  Jade took the ball and ran for goal.  Once in the D a clean strike saw the ball rattle in to the back of the goal.

The game finished 3-3.  It was a great team effort that saw us come back and we all felt that given another 5 minutes we could have won the match.

What a performance for the first game of the season.  Lets hope we can keep it up.
