Adamson Hospital

Official Opening - 29 October 2012

Alex Neil, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing, officially opened the redeveloped Adamson Hospital and Health Centre in Cupar on Monday 29 October.

The £9.8 million development provides a range of modernised and enhanced clinical facilities within the community hospital including an inpatient ward, outpatient department, physiotherapy department and child health unit; while GP practices within the health centre have been redesigned, further improving the patient experience.

In addition to the hospital and health centre, a Dental Access facility is also available on the Adamson site.

Arthur Morris, Chairman of Glenrothes and North East Fife Community Health Partnership, said: I am delighted to welcome the Cabinet Secretary to Cupar today. The redevelopment of Adamson Hospital and Health Centre allows health professionals to deliver excellent services and care in the best possible surroundings, with many patients already having experienced the benefits.

Adamson is yet another important milestone in the development of community facilities in Fife.

Mr Neil said: We are clear that the NHS should deliver what people want thats why I am pleased to open this fully modern hospital and health centre which will bring great benefits to local patients.

The Adamson Hospital and Cupar Health Centre redevelopment was a complex build. Both GP practices, out patient department and treatment room remained on the Adamson site during construction, whilst the in patient unit and out patient clinics all moved off site to the Stratheden site.
