Advertising A Vacancy

 

By now you will have ensured your post has been evaluated, has an agreed role profile and decided that advertising is your preferred method of filling your vacancy.

 

To begin the process of placing an advert, there are a number of areas to consider:

 

  • Preparation – before completing documentation on First Contact, review the blank Advertising A Vacancy Form , draft the text of your advert by referring to RS21 Advert template below and set interview dates;
  • First Contact Process – you will login to First Contact, select Services, People and Pay, Recruitment and Advertising a Vacancy.  Complete the request following the instructions.  Your vacancy will be placed on www.myjobscotland.gov.uk and you will be supported through the recruitment process by the Shared Service Centre Recruitment Team;
  • Supplementary Advertising  - if you are not successful in filling your vacancy after advertising for the first time, you may benefit from coverage in other forms of social media.  We can share job opportunities on Facebook @Fife Council Jobs or on Twitter @FCJobsOfficial. Complete the Request Form for Social Media advertising below.
