The Grievance Policy and Procedure applies to all chief officials, single status and craft employees (there are separate procedures for teachers and the Chief Executive).


This policy addresses behaviours or decisions that do not meet the Council’s intention to provide a workplace free from unfair treatment, harassment, bullying, victimisation or other forms of unlawful discrimination. The procedure describes how employees should raise concerns and how managers should respond, so they are dealt with in a fair and consistent manner.
