Safety on Public Transport
Fife is committed to working towards the;
Fife Community Safety Strategy 2011 - 2015 outcome 'Fewer people killed or seriously injured on the road'.
Fife Community Safety Partnership and Police Scotland recognise that Fife’s public transport network should be a safe environment for all those who use and work in it.
Fife’s Safer Travel Liaison Officer oversees a number of initiatives designed to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour on public transport, and help people feel safer.
- Actively target criminals who travel around on public transport
- Provide presentations and advice for young people, raising awareness of the dangers of vandalising and throwing stones at public transport, and ways to stay safe while travelling
- We also provide training to bus drivers regarding their personal safety and liaising with the public
For further information on travel options or how to plan a journey Traveline provides some useful pointers.
