Fife Council has a duty to make reasonable adjustments for an employee with a disability or who suffers from a short or long term impairment that could affect their ability to work. The Guidance document (OHS-C-58.G1) and checklist can assist managers and affected employees to make changes, helping these employees stay in work.
Who will carry out the assessment?
The workplace adjustment assessment should be carried out by a Manager or Supervisor who is familiar with the person and work activities they undertake. It is not necessary for Managers to be ‘experts’ in disability issues.
A ½ day seminar on Workplace Adjustments is available for Managers, Supervisors or Level 2 DSE assessors. Check CLMS for more details.
