Data Protection and Information Security

Public Records (Scotland) Act

Information is a key resource; Fife Council owns, and uses, vast amounts of information about its service users, suppliers and all of the many individuals and organisations that live, work or have an interest in Fife.

Information is a valuable resource; we use information in everything that we do, in our front-line services, our service planning and in our continuing quest for performance improvement. It enables us to co-ordinate the delivery of our services and ensures that we provide best value for our stakeholders. Managing our information effectively is a central component of effective service delivery.

The Council's Information and Records Management Strategy 2016 - 2019 is linked to this page as a publication and sets out the Council's approach to managing all of its information:

Our vision is a Council where information and records are managed effectively, consistently and efficiently to support the Council’s business requirements and decision making..
